I could use some help here. The thing I want/need to do is clone the content of a page in word.
Like, i've made a form for a client, and he wants to be able to make as many forms as he wants, in the same document. Without having to use "complex copy & paste" techniques.
Did that make sense? Anyone?

sorry, this isn't an answer to your post.
but MS WORD is the worst program I've ever used.
I had to write a design document (which I've just handed over) it was absolute hell.sratoffice used to be free, but I see it isn't anymore, anyone know other alternatives?

i think u will have a lot of problem trying to attach ur system to a closed source app.
at first it seems a good idea to make the the final users prefered tool to dbe an input web documents.
but then you realize that word has many versions, the operation has to be a blackbox for users (just click and go) and u will be lost in many versions, connections, webs and conditions to meet this simple task.
it's a moving target, dude.

in other words, suppose mc donalds decides to make a website with delivery and one-click shop (u click and the system already knows what u want, where u live, and how to charge).
good idea, huh?
NOPE. they will be lost in so many orders!
do u wanna be the delivery boy responsible for *this* system?

Do you think I like Word? Hell no. Quark is my friend, but do you think the client wants to buy Quark? SH*T!!

i'm sorry guy, but u r stuck in a situation that feels simple to the end user, but in fact is terribly difficult for those who know better.
maybe u can try to find some papers (pdf ones, full of graphics, phds, buzzword & corporate lingo) to help you to make them dismiss the idea...
sorry pal... :-/

quik, have you tried http://openoffice.org ? its based on star office's source and i believe its free.
atle, sorry i dunno much about Word, but perhaps you could create a macro to do the "complex copy and paste" stuff automagically?
Don't ask me how one would go about that, though.

Quik, try Openoffice.
It's good and open, and unlike most Opensource programs it has a good interface and average usability.
Opens and saves in word, excel, powerpoint and more...That's what I use fo all the .doc .ppt .xls files and requests I get.

have you tried making a form in Acrobat? you can leave text input lines for the user.
