I know one is for DV the other is for NTSC 601...
I'm preparing graphics to import in AE (to end up on a DVCAM with the help of Final Cut); Adobe says get your files 720x534 ready, then resize to 720x480 (DV!), fine.
in a square pixel world...
720x534 is not quiet 4:3.
720x540 is!Reducing 720x534 down to 320xXXX it ends upd to be 320x237 keeping the aspect ration of PSD
Reducing 720x540 down to 320xXXX it ends upd to be 320x240 keeping the aspect ration of PSD, which makes more sense to me.
Should I work my PSDs in 720x534 or 720x540
what do you do?

that's a weird one... I'd start bigger and go smaller... scaling up is always bad news.
besides, it's only 6px

I'm not quiet sure what you are reffering "scalling up"..?
I know it's only 6 pixels.. but it bugs me a little, and whish to understand...

Ok, first I no nothing about this.
But here's how the scaling breaks down out of 3D Studio:
NTSC (D-1): 720x486
512x346
Image Aspect: 1.3333
Pixel Aspect: .9NTSC (DV): 720x480
512x341
Image Aspect: 1.35
Pixel Aspect: .9Those are all rectangular pixels.
That probably doesn't help, eh?
I'd just scale it up (or make it larger, rather), and crop off those six pixels from the width.

I'm working right now on an extensive 3d-CG-over-real-footage work and i output to 720x480. In the end it will squish it to 6xx x 480.
