I know someone who rips stock comps to use for local print ads that she designs. She insists that she's manipulating the image so much that it makes it alright. I've tried to warn her that this practice can get her and her client in trouble, but she won't listen. How can I prove to her that this ain't cool?

Grass her up

you got any examples of her ads? I have no idea how you could "manipulate" an image, unless it's an illustration..

blackmale her for sex

then after she gives it up, report her to the proper authorities which would be some sort of trade commission or better business bureau or some crap

Now that you all have slain me with your wit, any serious answers?

depending on the rights of an image and the amounts of viewers, stock photo suppliers probably won't waste their time taking legal action. morally it is probably wrong though.
