I would be forever grateful if you could solve this issue, that I'm sure has been talked about here before, but a search did not help me.
The thing is, I've got an .swf file as a menu inside a table, and on Mac IE it shows for a few seconds, the goes away. What's up with that?

I'm having exactly the same problem now that I've got OSX and IE. 5.2... Is this a none issue or something?
- atle0
It's annoying as hell!
Help us :D

I had the same problem a while back. I ended up putting the .swf on its own html page and changed the original table cell to be an iframe with this page called into it. seemed to work ok for me - but dont quote me on this - I'm not a web designer so I was just winging it and it seemed to do the job.
and yep IE 5.2 for OSX is crap!

is the swf movie in the same directory as the html page.. just try that??
- atle0
I ended up with putting in an iFrame... lots of work, but hey... We only live once...
Apple has to fix this... suck ass...

whats your out put?
version 6 or 5 swf?
using MX or 5 for output?
i know few bug fixes

My issue seems even stranger... If you have both PC and Mac you'll notice that my navigation movie behave very differently at http://www.clarkejonathan.com
It like the movie only half loads in OSX IE. No navigation buttons...
It uses some Shared Objects, could that be an issue?
- MrDinky0
it could be.. are u using _level?
whats your output? swf? 5 or 6?
what r u using mx or 5?
- jonathanC0
Sorry 6 from MX...
_level?
- atle0
MX here also
- MrDinky0
i noticed that sometimes.. when you are communicating _level between swf, it makes it crash (mostly NS) or makes it disappear
another thing is when you are out putting 5 from MX the version code is not correct, so it also makes it disappear.
check your player version also. earlier 6 player is very buggy.

Will do thanks!
- MrDinky0
jon..
did you try embed instead of src?
embed with correct object id?
- jonathanC0
Er no.
Just did it the lazy way. I'll try that tonight.
- MrDinky0
ok
make sure you have the correct javascript also that works in both Mac and PC.. if you are using script that is not friendly, and you are recalling JS functions, well you know the results...
sometimes, flash in table cells makes it wonky also.. so make sure your html and JS are tight..

or stick to XHTML in copmbination with the Flash Satay method: http://www.alistapart.com/storieā¦
does it for me, and it validates!
