I have worked SO $@%! hard on this site and am still having some page shift issues that have me in tears. Would anyone out there be so kind to give this site a quick look-over? http://www.dixiemed.com
I cannot figure out WHY the index page and the EMT page align with one another and the product, contact page align with one another but not the index!? My client is insistent on the pages not shifting as you move from one to the other and I'm about to lose my mind.

if you are going to put a doctype, validate. that way you will have clean code and it will hopefully help you decipher your problem.

thanks unformatted. Is height not supported by w3? I keep getting a "there is no height attribute". ?
- neeko0
depends on what its an attribute of.
- unformatted0
you can define height for a table,td,th,tr in your style sheets.
table.nameofclass{}then <table class="nameofclass"
you probably have an extra tag in there somewhere.

table height is not supported by w3. get rid of that. you dont need it.

Ah, so you feel my pain, Sapphire. I'm this | | close to just hiring someone else to take it over cause by now I'm making about, hhmm, lets see...10 cents an hour and that figure is dropping. :(
- unformatted0
how much you pay me?
;)
- monkeyshine0
$100. That would bring what I am making on this to about 2 cents an hour.
- neeko0
hehe... thats funny, i'm working on a site right now where I too am making about 10 cents an hour...
theres some problems with your AED equipement page... too. an extra border by the looks of it, and your header image is getting distorted i think.

j/k man.
but seriously, change your doctype to html 4, and just fix all the errors. i'm pretty sure that it's just an extra tag you left in or added on accident.
if you have dreamweaver mx you can validate more than 1 file. you can validate your whole site.

thanks everyone. ok...so remove the doctype? I see I need to really actually READ my XHTML book. :)
- neeko0
why are you removing the doctype?
- monkeyshine0
I have to say, this must be karma cause I'm always blabbing on about how much I hate seeing sites that are locked into the left corner of the browser...LAZY! And all those designers are out getting drunk with their friends and here I sit. :/

no, i don't mean delete your doctype. i mean just change it from xhtml to html to make it easier on you.
change to
[!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"]
replacing [] with of course

Thank you guys so much. I've gone through and validated and cleaned code and I'm still getting the page shift. Seems like all pages with lots of content align and then the pages with just a little content align but shift from one with alot of content to one with very little. This is giving me a newfound love of print design.
