I believe the fossil record bears out it is indeed evolution that is the sack of shit.
Dont get me wrong "Creationism" is full of holes too.
Instead of looking at peoples interpretations simply look at what the evidence supports. The spontaneous appearance of completely developed lifeforms on the planet or the gradual appearance of simple life which subsequently changed and developed into more complex lifeforms.

I believe that they most agree that Evolution isn't Creationism. Even Christian Scientists believe in a form of evoultion right?

"I believe the fossil record bears out it is indeed evolution that is the sack of shit."
?
Oh, do tell how you came upon this enlightenment. The fossil record doesn't bear it out? How old do you think those fossils are? 6000 years? When GOD started it all?
Let me guess, carbon dating is all a big secular fabrication! And the geoligical record is all made up too...

There are many problems with the idea of evolution. It can't even qualify as a "theory" as it is not testable nor observable. It amazes me that so many blindly accept it .
Of it's many inconsistencies, the lack of transitional forms has to be the biggest for me. Regardless, it's too big of a discussion for a forum like this. There was a previous thread in which it was discussed in detail, but I can't remember what the title of the thread was. Anway, I HIGHLY recommend one of the books I mentioned above.

sometimes it takes religion a while to admit things are not right.
example1: the world is round
only took a couple hundred years of hard facts to break that one down.
example2: the earth is not the center of teh galaxy and CERTAINLY not the center of the universe.
again, only a few hundred years to get that one hammered out.some things just take time.
as for evolution being a sack of shit... i'm not really sure where to start on that one. so i will let someone else have the honor.
patience my friends.

JazX, sent you an email.....

Gdiddy, carbon dating has been proven rediculously inaccurate several times.

carbon dating has indeed proved to be inaccurate when dating certain objects.
i dont recall the species, but there is a desert beetle that tests to be a couple thousand years old when in fact it is only one or 2 years old.
last i heard it happened with 2 or 3 specific types of objects. so carbon dating is not infallible.
there are other forms of dating more advanced than carbon dating. methods which test the halflife of other chemicals and elements. but as before, all of them have their "little glitches".
i am inclined to believe the tests more than i am inclined to use blind faith... but that is just me.
one day we will all kill eachother or learn to live together.
A.Einstein - "Our technology has outgrown our humanity."
interesting thought. and true.

Wow that book must be good! It recieved some amazing reviews.

What the fossil record does not show is the transition from on lifeform to another.
Once again I am not a "creationist", but do believe in creation. So I do not believe that the earth was created 6000 years ago.
Even though the bible account says that eartth and life was created in seven days it also says that a day to god is like a thousand years which in context suggests that the creative days were probably very long periods of time, certainly not 24hr days.

hey you guys all have valid points, I am a Geology BS degree holder turned Web Guru. You've brought up some valid points, all of you and it also explains why there are so many different viewpoints on what is and what isn't true. The Geologic Record is vague at best. Too many holes, what most people don't get is that it is so generalized and iffy.

well put, jx.
- scarabin0
amen.

- that creationism is retarded.
- JazX0
Hmm, I tend to think that both sides are wrong and that there must be some middle ground, where both sides have valid arguments, yet are missing a couple of key pieces. They both don't like to talk about certain aspects that they know one side has on them and the other doesn't. :) I thought that to be funny listening to various lectures at Pitt Geology.
