about a year ago, i built a site for my friend's band (Midlake). they're an excellent group on the brink of success.

because of other projects, however, i don't have much time to maintain or re-design ther site anymore.

so i need to figure out how to "hand-off" the site to someone else. they will basically become the new webmaster and will work with the band on a site redesign to launch with the band's upcoming album release.

have you guys ever handed off a site before? i'm not really sure how to go about it. and i don't know many designers, so i don't know who to ask...

    here's the current site:

    thanks very much!

You might make some design guidelines, eg about typographic style, when to use headings, how to treat imagery etc. If they are going to redesign then explain what the band's image has been so far so they can build on it.

You also need to make sure that all the work is in a logical file structure so they can find everything, especially any photoshop templates they might be using to update titles etc.

Also cos yours is flash make sure everything is labelled and named clearly, and that any tricky actionscripting has //comments in it. Try and keep all your actions in one action layer rather than in obscure places.

    Nice site, good luck!

The nicest thing you could do is to go in and add comments to all of your code explaining what everything does. Everyone has their own way of building a flash site, and he / she may not understand your way without a little explanation.
