Is anyone doing serious design work on a 17" iMac? I'm in charge of pricing new computers and it seems like you get more bang for the $$ with iMacs. But I think you can't do dual monitors. Any other big limitations to consider?

yeah, if you want cheap, Emac is they way.
i have used an Imac 17" for vid-editing once or twice. It is ok but not enough expandability for me.

If you are Pro designer get Power Mac
Just for the sake of upgradability which you might need graphic cards PCI Extra hard disks SCSI. All come in handy.
Imac is a great computer but its closed unit. You bye it and that it.

Thanks Wayne and everyone. I guess the bottom line is that yeah, I can save some $$ now but a year from now instead of upgrading I'll have to buy another computer to keep up...which I'm all for but sure the company accountant wouldn't agree.
