i just wanted to get some feedback from designers and empolyers. just had an interview last week and am getting ready to write the follow up email, just wondered what suggestions any & all would have, short of begging, to communicate my interest in this position (which i feel i did communicate in the interview, but they told me they were at the 'beginning of the interviewing process,' another week or so before they'd know for sure...not sure what the proper procedure is, etc. thanks)

you should have sent a follow up/thank you email the same day as the interview really, you never want to wait a week.

really, same day? we finished the interview on friday around 5:30pm, and the interviewer mentioned she was new at this, and that they had just begun to look at books/interview, and at the close mentioned i should email her if i had any questions, and it could be 2-3 weeks before they knew...

yeah, the next day is best, usually send thank you card a week after.

doesn't have to be the same day, especially if you finished the interview at the end of the day Friday, but the next day at least. Just shows a lot of interest and a thank you to the interviewer is always nice.
