Hi
I am in a group for a university assignment and I have been assigned the job of doing some buttons in Flash MX and they seem to work but there is a bug which I am unsure if it is my bad coding or a problem with flash ?
The buttons at the top of the white box on this page:

They work fine if you roll the cursor over them reasonably slowly but if you do it too quickly the "on rollout" function doesn't seem to be triggered and the movie clip it is supposed to play doesn't!
Any suggestions ? I can provide a link to the .fla file if you think you can help.

in Flash MX you don't really need to use buttons anymore, because it's just as easy to assign a button function to a movieclip as it was to assign actions to a button in Flash 5.
this.onRollOver = function() {
movie.gotoAndPlay(2);
}this.onRollOut = function() {
movie.gotoAndPlay(1);
}throw that in an onClipEvent, like (load), and see if that works.

change play(); to gotoAndPlay();

Thank you for your help! I have done it now. :-)
As you can tell I am new to flash but I am really enjoying the learning process. Switching from Director/Lingo to Flash/Actionscript is quite difficult for an already rubbish programmer. :-)

Thanks for the help. I hope you don't think I am weird for being so upfront but it is true, you are very beautifull and I know how much a kind word can change someone's day sometimes.
