so, since i read about the frames copyright issue and am reading jim carlton's "apple", i was starting to wonder if microsoft holds a copyright or something like it for the outlook look and feel. the thing is, that i'm creating a cms, and it seems that the outlook frames system is the best for my purposes. you know, frame with folders on the left, topics in the top right frame and active object in the bottom right.

so, does anybody know if i can be sued for using this method of data delivery? and for that matter, can i be sued for using frames (in regards to the recent issues about their copyright)?

your description of what you are planning is like a lot of mail software, not just outlook... so, no they couldnt sue you... unless you are making it even more 'Outlook-like' than you described...
