One time a week, I swear I will never open Photoshoip anymore. Each time, I feel is too stupid to be in front of my computer every night, trying to do something nice, tired of having working all day (and not in design or multimedia) Tired of seeing my family + friends who doen't understand what I'm doing, tired of feeling alone because I'm not working in design. I want to learn, and I'm working hard. But I really feel alone. Web design is hard, because you do it alone in front in your computer, and you put it on the web, and sometimes, people send you an email to tell you he likes what you have done. But in my real life, I'm alone with this interest.
How could I be better? How could I learn? How could I trust me?

i feel you pain_
move to a bigger town/city where you'd be able to meet more likeminded people__
well, at least that's what I'd do__

Hang out on the PV-AN more? There is a wealth of talent, inspiration, ideas and knowledge to be found in the people here.
Sometimes it is disheartening, but then you work on something that reminds you what this is all about and why you love it. Keep your chin up.

I'm sorry to hear your having a tough time maybe a break or perhaps a little vacation might help. Sounds like you need a change of direction.

I think the best thing you can do is get out of your place and go places. This is what makes it tolerable. Go fishing, hiking, go shopping even and talk to people, go drive, go to church, get involved in a rec sport, go support your local highschool basketball or college sports, go bike riding, build things out of wood, get you hands working on a craft, clean, shoot hoops, call up people and ask people to do stuff, go to a movie, go to the ocean, go snowboarding, and then after youve done these things, you do them again and again, then most likely you will have met a few friends and by getting out from you computer you will come back and things will click.
Repeat.

I understand. Maybe I need a break, it's right. Anyway, I feel sometimes I don't have any idea to share right now.
But... why I'm so attracted by my computer and Photoshop?
Could it be a drug?
I think I'll remove Photoshop of my computer :) and go outside, taking some pictures, learn to draw, having a beer with friends, reading more and more and waiting for spring.
But I'm afraid to miss my Photoshop :(

I love the idea of going near the ocean, but I'm living in Montréal and there's no ocean :(
But maybe I should fly to San Francisco, where I have been for a week two years ago, and where I feel.... at home.

I'd loved to move in SF. Because it's a great city.
But I'm Montrealer, I'm French Speaking, I'm Canadian, bla bla and well, I love living here (Montréal is really a gret city: http://www.lycheeland.com/neozin…)
If I had more $$, I would go in Sf for a couple of days at least.
I love the sky of SF in August. It's amazing.
