i work on both too, and i would have to say...the big one button mouse for the mac really sucks.
other than that i would say my mac performs better than my pc, and i really like the fact that all mac programs run seperate from eachother. that way if one program crashes you don't have to do a restart like you do on a pc.

i use both and like both, but not being able to open some files from a mac on a pc drives me crazy or the filenames being messed up. grr
other than that both are capable of the same these days.

you can get a different two button mouse for the mac.
i have always used macs. i've used pcs too and don't like them.

about speed issues...
Isnt it true that the speed difs between OSX G4s and OSX Athlons (provided from apple to selected few) has been up to 300%-500% in some tasks?
Now, thats a big, big, big, difference.,

I remember when Radius tried to make mac clones.
That was a gas...

Jaguar is half the price of Windows XP so why would I use Windows on my Mac? :?

lvl.. the one button mouse doesnt bother me much.. i use a tablet on PC and MAC.
my only mac complaint is it takes seriously a half an hour to start it up.

yeah, super slow startup. oh and also you can't change the memory settings for ie (at least if you are using osx) and that really sucks. if anybody saw the latest colors magazine flash movie that was posted here you probably know what i mean. it wouldn't even play on my mac due to lack of memory.
oh wait, one more thing. my ie 5.2 crashes at least 10 times a day on my mac.

Mac - The only reason I could see to use a Mac would be becuase it's pretty. Although they are starting to look dated. The only other reason is the new 17" powerbook, but for the price I would never get one. I'd get a Tag Hueur and a Dell.
PC - much, much faster, period. Dual Xeons will blow the doors off of any Mac out there. Graphic cards are far superior for PCs. Compatibility. I know one architecture firm that uses Macs and they recently had to buy PCs just to be able to work with engineers and other firms.
Money - just too much for a Mac, a pretty plastic box can't justify it in my mind or for my business needs.
Lastly, I use my right click and scroll button (the button, not the wheel) every hour of every day, I can't imagine not having it (Iknow, I know, you can get the 3 button mouse for the Mac, but that's besides the point).
PCs win, until I have $4k to toss at something that looks cool.

i dont understand why you would have to reboot after a program crash on a pc.
i was using a new G4 at working running OSX. the interface was running really slow so, menus were lagging when i clicked for them. I asked what i could do to speed it up so the menus and windows would react when i asked them to, everyone said get more ram. it had 874 megs.....
i want to like macs, ive tried twice to use them at work and i couldnt take it.

Pee-See for me
Macks are ok but pee-see are faster, cheaper, more upgradable and from personal experience, crashes less too.

well, bottom line is that the pc i am using is a p3 500, and hasn't been reformatted since i got it. it always crashes my computer when a program crashes...or not so much crashes...just freezes. i think i have every virus known to man on that thing. Seriously it worked fine before, but now it stalls and pauses even when i move my mouse. you would have to see it to believe it. but i use my roomates pc a lot and that thing flies.

hows restarting your workstation twice a day for productivity?
sure pc's are cheaper, but you get what you pay for. as for processor speeds, haha you have to be kidding me. why does a 2ghz pc see little or no difference between it and a 1ghz mac? Macs are much much much easier to network too. I used to be so anti mac it was pathetic, so caught up in my windows world. Windows just started catching up to mac in the last two years, go back three years and see how many designers were working with PC's. I think it's safe to say that the numbers were extremely tilted in the favor of macs. So why would i want to work on a system that took all the way up to two years ago to get it right, when i could just keep working on a system that had it right all along?
