I am developing a web app using asp and dw, on my machine when i preview the come out fine, but on all other machines i have tested the browser(pc)tries to download the page(save as dialog box)im using a access database

are you testing this on pws or iis?

Test from the live server. Other browsers like Netscape wont render an ASP file unless its online and running from a server that supports ASP files.

What's your server? is it yours or just a hosting package? what OS?
oh dear, please don't tell me you've developed an asp app and your server doesn't support asp...

i know nothing about coding but i do remember my last site had problems with servers not supporting asp and coldfusion. the site was built already and the designer wasnt willing to make any changes without huge cash... i eventually had to dump the whole site... my new one is hotter anyway and i've learned enough about flash to update my portfolios...
respect to all of you that understand how to really code...especially enough to help solve others coding problems. it really is an art.

Something is wrong with the way your web server is set up. Most likely your site settings in IIS. The only time I have seen this happen (Browser trying to download a page) Is when i didnt have my local ASP site set up in IIS on my local machine when trying to test(locally) my site.
IF you can test it fine on your local machine then try to replicate your IIS setting on your remote server.

check the application settings under the home directory tab in IIS, make sure you have an application running, otherwise IIS wont process ASP and wont know what to do with them, hence passing them to the browser for download.

yea i will look into the setting thanks all

typically when you do a fresh install of windows with IIS, you should be able to drop an asp page in the inetpub/wwwroot/ directory and view it immediatley by pointing your browser to
(assuming of course you have a default.asp page in the root directory.)
