3d stroke for 3d apps?

  I'm trying to achieve a similar effect as this AfterEffects plugin:

  except I'm wondering if something similar is available for any 3d apps like 3dsmax or Maya.

  Basically: the ability to keyframe the start and end point of a line, alone a spline! Thx
