ok, so apparently we're replacing some of our 'poster boards' with large plasma screens...
so now i can incorporate moving images into my work...
there's to be no interactivity... they're just for display...
my question..?
what would be the best software to use to produce these moving images..?
i was thinking flash, but hey what do i know..?
anyone any ideas..?
done anything similar..?
i thank you...

I've worked on similar things in the past and have always done well with Flash, a good frame rate .. all hooked up to a nice, quick computer.
There are broadcast industry equivalents, but hey - if it ain't broke.. don't fix it..
'least, that's my view.

After Effects period
Fuck web/vector based wank off software. For broadcast design you'll be shitting your pants.

anyone else..?
got two conflicting responses here...

I'd go with After Effects. You can get away with a lot more. Easer integration with Photoshop. You can use decent looking video. And, you can still use vector if you want.

Flash is fine if it's really simple and you don't want to put much effort in (not that AE is hard, it just can take a while if you are doing interesting things, but you couldn't do them in Flash anyway, confusing?)
AE if you want to design without limits. Really, anything you can imagine can be made to move in AE. It's really an awesome program, but because it is so limitless it can take a long time.
Go with AE, it'll look more professional.

After Effects it is then...
now, seeing as work is paying...
any good After Effects courses in London..?
or should i invest in a book..?
if so which one..?
i thank you all for your time and help...

if your snappy at learning programs, perhaps a book and net tutes are fine.
though a short course- BAM it will throw you right into the program pretty quick.
how bout just get a friend to show you the ropes?
yeah, I'd say a friend is the best way- cos its pretty easy to learn AE basics, its just god damn time consuming (and brain busting) to create decent work.
btw- a looping dvd would be a very effective and cheap way to get your plasma screens nice and shiney with your work.

I'd get the videos if it was paid for. Plus, if you get to keep them, I could use them once you are done : )
