Sure you have the font embedded? It doesn't matter what the font is, if you have it selected as "DEVICE FONT" it won't work behind the mask.

c'mon, everybody uses mimiml fonts, someone has to have come across this before.
pleeeeeeaaaaase!!!

the only place i see an option for Device Font is under the HTML tab for Publish Settings.
what am i missing?

I had a prob with html-tags in dyn.text, one solution was to just use device fonts... dunno how to work it on miniml, but it's something with the embedding. semi-random tweaking around usually results in some form of progress in flash.. :)

did you enable html in your dyn.textfield?
why italize miniml's perfect pixel fonts? :)
- majman0
yeah, html is enabled.
if it were up to me, i'd definatley say no to the italics, but it's for some titles, so apparently they HAVE to be in italics, even if they look crumby.

lose the mask if possible, that usually causes trouble with dyn.text fields + rich-text formatting... yeah, that's probably the culprit..

it's just so weird. everything seemed to be working fine, and then all of a sudden the words weren't showing up.
i'm going to reboot, see what happens.
if anybody else has a suggestion, please, suggest away!!!

it's gotta be the mask, I've had similar prob's before.

This is a known bug in flash - the issue is that you cannot put text with device fonts in a mask - they won't display.
Try this... create a word in flash, change it to device fonts, throw a mask over it.
- majman0
i know it's a mask issue, things are fine w/out the mask, but the mask is totally necessary for what i'm doing.
aren't the device fonts the _sans _typewriter and _serif or something. if i'm using embedded fonts, wouldn't it be a different case.
- majman0
oh, it's also scroll text and part of a component.
does that help?

embed the font in another text fiels somewhere else. (as small as possible and somehow hidden, it's werked for me.)
- Mick0
I stand corrected, you can use device fonts in a mask (In Flash 6 only).

oddly enough, netizen, i tried that already. didn't work though :(
