Hey all,
I'm building my personal playground/blog and wanted to have some feedback on wether I'm in the right direction. Please point your browsers to http://www.webkitchen.be and let me know what you think.
Currently only the cookbook button is working. Other sections under construction.
Flash 6 player needed.
Thanks,
S

Like it! Smooth Nav - nice imagery....

Looking extremely tasty. I will return for another visit when there is more content though.

I think it will be totally finished by the end of the week... I'll broadcast it up here when it is finished.
Purpose of the site is portfolio/blog/playground/a place to put up my photography experiments... :)

It's pretty jerky and the tweens are a bit slow, speed it up and see how it is then.
Not keen on the font but that's a personal thing, if you like then who am I to tell you not to?
Looks promising.

I likey! Clever theme, nice layout. I might make the transitions a tad faster though.
I think it will do great things for you.

Ok So far I got: 'make transitions faster'
Anything else I should put on my list?

Get rid of that intro, or I'll submit you to http://www.skipintro.com/
And yeah, there's too much movement between screens - a waste of time.
Otherwise, it's reasonably clean. Good work.

Transitions look fine to me.
Very elegant, some of the background gradients are too close to the subtle site border... I'd just like to see more definition there. Other than that, all looks nice to me. I like the areas with lots of color better than those without.

Actually... It's not an intro... I'm using 'the intro' to load the XMLfile needed for the content of the site. The transitions do the same thing. They're there for (pre)loading the content needed in the next screen.

add some preloaders! it was loading very slow on my DSL connection, with no preloader i wasn't sure if the site was working or not. the fuzzy background is excellent. the nav is very well done - nice movement. the HUGE section headers, however, (although i love the names - "cookbook," cooked," etc.) and the title that pops up at the beginning are really not working - they look "horsey," as my GD professor used to say. I'm also not completely sold on the webkitchen logo with the star...i know you maybe don't want to go too literal here, but what the heck does a star have to do with the name? Overall, though, a good start.

Bit like Martika's Kitchen?

Lovaboy: You're right. I don't want to go too literal. The Webkitchen is just a name. Some people also suggested to make the site with kitchen-components but I don't wanna go that way. I want it to be something unexpected. And yes... You could ask "why a star"... But you can ask the same question for just about every logo out there... right?
