Hey guys, a super newbe director question, I built a Flash game, and now they want it as a director file (Don't ask). Is there any program or a way to import a swf into a director file so I can publish it without rewriting all the code in lingo? Thanks a lot for your time.

i think you just have to import it, i remember a flash import function. i would use that in school because i hated the old versions of director. just build in flash then bring it in.

Well I made a quick test file. I made a button in flash and made it go to a URL on press. I imported it into Director and it showed up in the cast. I dragged it to the stage and published it, did show up. Am I doing this wrong?

Yeah, just import it into the cast and drag it on to the stage. You will probably find that it runs a bit slower than as a stand alone swf file. If this is the case, click the 'direct to stage' option in it's properties and (assuming you don't want any ink effects or to lay anything on top of it) this will sort it for ya...

dir 8.5 supports flash 5 and below. dir MX supports flash MX. so, make sure you've got the appropriate version of director. then it should work fine.

can't you just import it as an OBJECT? I think you can in the new Director MX. In fact I know you can.
