I just got an eMac and it has OSX.2 and 9.2.2 installed.
Does anyone knows how I can split these two operating systems into 2 partitions, cuz it's automatically installed on one HD and it has 2 system-folders now, which can give problems with certain applications.
Is there someone who has experienced this problem too, or is there someone who can help me out, please?Thnx!
PS: No 'Get a PC!'-commments please.

what problems are you having? my mac at work has them both on the same partition, and at home i have them on separate ones. neither runs better or worse than the other.
you can still boot straight to os9 if it's on the same partition as osx...
next time you're having troubles, stop by www.macosxhints.com ... you won't have to trail your post with "No 'Get a PC!' comments" :)

it lets you run in 'classic' mode
rtfm ;)

Backup up all data on the Machine.
Format and partition the drive.
Re-Install systems on different partitions or copy system folders from backup to respective partitions (should work for 9, not sure about copying X system folder).

if you're gonna backup, go to versiontracker and get the latest version of Carbon Copy Cloner... that program is a gem, well worth the $5.
$5! Hmmm... 3 Gorditas or a pristine backup of my entire system...

Thanx beedee!
I had problems in the past with OSX.1.1.5 and OS9.2.1 on one HD. Everytime when I installed software on my MacG3 it warned me about the two system-folders and that it could give problems. Also tech-people from a local Mac-store recommended me to make 2 partitions, so I did. But I have no clue how to do it with this eMac, cuz it has no seperate OS9 install cd. Anyways....thanx for the URL and comments! :)

Thanx fusion41 for ur comment, but that can't be done, cuz there are no seperate Install/Restore cd's. There are 4 Restore cd's that automatically reiinstalls both OSX.2 and OS9.2.2 back on one HD again.
Cheers!

What if...
you backup and partition.
Copy sys 9 folder from your backup to partition 1, then do your full install to partition 2 and trash the 9 folder.
Copying system folders is not always the best option but it should work. Anybody know different?
