try in the image menu, where you switch between CMYK, GRB, Index etc.
I think there's one in there called screen or halftone... anyways, click that and it'll give you a popup where you can set your line screen, dot type etc.
the filter one sucks.

thanks mon, i tried your suggestion, converted it to a bitmap, flattened the image and found the pop up dialog box you were talking about. and theres a place to load custom halftones at the bottom of the dropdown menu. i think thats where i need the custom one, although it seem freaky seein how the file is a bitmap. i think the old school method is the best option. if i could only find someone with a stat cam!
thanks for your help. it put me on the right track fo sho

ah bitmap, that's the one!
I don't recall having to load a custom halftone pattern.
maybe just fool around in there, i'm sure you can get a usable halftone out of it(eg: forscreen printing) without needing some other piece of software.

a proper setting is what you want, not a pluggin, you have to try until you get what you want.
play around, work with higher resolution images.
for example, if you have a 72 dpi image, turn it to 300, apply the pattern, and then bring it back to 72.
do stuff like that.
people can tell a pluggin from far away, you dont want people figuring out how you did something.

thanks surf, but im talking about something else, unless you've seen a stat cam halftone, and all its variations. i just thought there might be a plugin out there to replicate it.
thanks though

You probably want Adromeda's Screens filters for Photoshop:
http://www.andromeda.com/info/se…I wish there was a vector art equivalent, but there are none that I know of. Good luck!
