Memphis would be a good place to stop considering thats the only place that I-40 breaks coast to caost. Won't allow the interstate to pass over the zoo. Anyway, Beale Street down town is hella fun.

if you wanna stop in nashville for some beers, there's a bar in the bottom of union station off of 40 which has a huge assortment of world brews...

I'm also in Raleigh.. Agree that it does get alittle boring at times.
Moved here from Canada 2 years ago.

When you get to Barstow, there's a nice big sign that says "Wilmington, NC 2547 miles"

the same, but opposite sign is in wilmington NC (barstow CA 2547...) I always wanted to drive cross country and have a picture taken in NC at that sign and then in CA at the other sign... maybe stop shaving the day of the first photo and then with big burly beard in the next photo.

I used to live in Wilmington and saw the Barstow sign a million times. It was pretty cool to see the one in Barstow. btw, the last time I did this trip, I was with 2 friends and we drove straight from LA to Wilm, nonstop (well, stopped for gas). It was like the Canonball Run in a Plymouth. We did it in 48 hours. Oh, here's the sign:

48 Hours!?! What can I say, that's just kick ass. You now reside in Brazil?
