does anyone use xml on their personal site? what for?
the reason i'm asking is that i feel like learning xml, but i can't think of any time in the near future when i'll actually need it.
any suggestions for good practical tutorial exercises welcome.

My resume.
I actually got help from someone here and used their template for a resume using XML, XSL & JS. I think his name was robert. Thanks dude! It has taught me a bit more about XML & Parsing it with XSL.
Sorry you may not see my resume, it has personal information I would rather not display!

so I can change the links and sections easily.

XML in personal site, it's fine. I mean you can use XMl-based engines for Flash as well these days, so don't be surprised to see more use of it, especially with XSL. It's the CSS of XML. Nice stuff actually.

i started using xml in a self generating flash diary:
It allows me to update and add from an html site and see the changes dynamically in my flash movie by adding buttons whenever there is a new subject added. since it's creation I haven't added to it like i thought but it's cool, i don't have to edit the .fla. so weeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I use XML for the blogger/journal on my personal site. The entries are actually stored in an Acess database. then, a really simple CFML page generates an XML page which I parse with actionscript.
I started out editting the XML file manually, while being tutored in the ways of CFML... works fine too.
Good learning experience.

hopefully if all goes well I will be working on a project at Carnegie Mellon University in which XML will be used to do the same type of updates from HTML to Flash without EVER editing an .fla, which is great in my opinion. Working with the likes of these guys: http://www.propagandaoffice.com

we used xml streams for the mixtape players on both epitaph.com as well as my personla site. the epitaph one streams from a database and the blather one builds an xml stream from a directory structure. works great with mx for making audio players.
