I am in need of some content help with my resume. I want to know
what kind of skillsets most employers look for in a resume for a senior level designer. ( Besides good design skills and talent.) Do they want management and leadership skills? What are some key words that will convince them to look at my portfolio.
Besides Flash, Photoshop, illustrator. What are the software most employers want there designers to know?
thanks in advance.

freehand, fireworks, quark and unfortunatly Corel from time to time.
sometimes dreamweaver too.
as far as keywords... i'd say throw in some random words like: "cockass" and "fruityliscious" and "wonderificness" they love that kinda shit.

ok, thanks Bio. I often wonder if they actually read the resumes or if they just scan them quickly. That would really help me find out.

yes it would.
i just found out that apparently no one read my resume.
my boss came up to me to offer me another guys job. she said "I hear you are good at graphic design." i wanted to laugh and cry. when they found out that i was a web designer for 3 years, they flipped out and asked me to start redesigning shit. it is ALL right there and easily readable on my resume.
*sigh* just make it look pretty ... they wont give a shit enough to read it anyway.

You know, verbs are big in resumes. Really get attention. Like 'Design', 'Implement', or other fancy shmancy past tense words in referring to what you've done for other employers. Most importantly, try to sound eloquent -whatever that means. And spel wright. Or your resume will just get tossed into the trash.

Content is SECOND! make it look good and stand out amonst the sea of black text on white paper and only THEN will they take the time to SCAN over what it says. Trust me.

just put NEWSTODAY TROLL in large Ariel Black, smack in the middle.
they'd be like "whoa this dude's a pimp fo'sho!" and "fo' sheezy my neezy" because all in charge of creative hirings have a little Snoop in them.
...to the bat mobil robin!
fuck forgot my meds.

that true, KOna. But A friend of mine who works in HR said that HR. scans through the pile of resumes regardless of the design, and look for key words and then give the ones that are qualified to the Creative Directors.
