  this weekend was a culinary one.

  i knocked the second restaurant off my "must try these top five mac'n'cheeses in LA" list (it was at swinger's and was good but not as amazing as the dish at pete's). i tried the grilled cheese with goat, cheddar, jack and bacon and of course the mac.n.cheese;

  went to milk for the first time to try their desserts, which i've heard a lot about. i discovered just how deserved its praise was (i had the blondie sundae);

  visited also tried doughboy's for the first time and had the almond-crusted strawberry french toast, and sampled the banana pecan butterscotch pancakes
