A decade old thread?
Might just give it a go.Like wine, fonts and preference in ladies hair-colors
scent is subjective
and as such it's pretty ridiculous to ask for suggestions.Perhaps even more so with scents as they react differently on each and every individual.
Best is that you go sniff out a few yourself and find what you like.
After all it's gonna stick on you for some time to come.- Hit up a store. Spray it on your skin, give it a moment to sink in.
- Use the coffee beans (that they should have around) in between fragrances to clear your snout.
- Even so, don't go through the whole stores selection in one inning - your nose will be done after a few tests and the fragrances will start to blend together.Lastly, guess this is a suggestion that breaks the rule: fun thing to do once in a while is to go with something from "Library of Fragrances". They don't last long on your body but it's refreshing with scents like "dirt" and "grass".

When I got married in Italy last summer, I got my beard trimmed and neck shaved at a barber/salon in the town we were in. After he was done he put on some after shave that smelled completely wonderful. Kind of a masculine, fresh scent that I'd never smelled before. I still regret not finding out what it was. Point being, every now and then you find just the right scent they can be your identity. I'm sure someone has said it in here, but you should really stick to one scent for a period of time. It kind of becomes your signature to people. At most you should have one for daytime and one for nighttime special occasions - something darker and more intense.
Also, did anyone post sites like this to buy samples from?
http://m.fragrancenet.com/cologn…I feel like there's another one that is a better looking site than that. It was in GQ or Details once.

Also, for the last couple of years I have mostly worn cologne from L'Occitane. They have stores around the US and I'm sure in other countries. Good price too, I think everything they offer is $52 a bottle. I think they're nice unique scents, and for some reason I doubt a lot of men shop there.
A classic, time-honored fragrance. Joins the spicy aroma of vetyver wood with bergamot, rosemary, cypress and nutmeg.I've been wearing this all summer and it's a really nice Vetiver. I tried the Tom Ford Grey Vetiver before and it was OK, but I far prefer this. I sort of feel like it's something movie stars would have worn back in 50s. It's sort of a timeless scent, earthy, slightly medicinal. It's really nice.
In the fall and winter when it's colder, this one is really nice too.
Created through the distillation of authentic A.O.C. lavender, blended with the peppery, nutmeg scent of burnt wood. A panoramic and complex fragrance, redolent with the rich scents of Provence, in all their ruggedness and mystery. Intended for men, but women love it, too.
