A number of (mt) Media Temple servers experienced a malicious DOS attack this morning. Hundreds of Denial of service (DOS) attacks are directed at (mt) Media Temple and other web hosting and ISP services daily. (mt) Media Temple network security and staff protects the network from 99% of these attacks, occasionally one professional hacker will penetrate a server. At that point, the measure of a company's worth is response time and containment capability. (mt) Media Temple technicians and 24hr staff detected the problem and contained it immediately this morning. Logs have been searched and the root of the breach is being researched and applied to current security standards.
