    While I don't completely agree with vburo, I think he's got a good point in that it smacks of being thrown together. A mishmash of things you've seen.

    While I like some of it, other parts fall a little flat. I don't think you've really utilized the photography (not that it's a great picture, but you could definately enhance it).

    It seems to me like you would have done this regardless of the picture, and regardless of the magazine. It could be applied to just about anything- and that's where the problem is. Whenever I hit a snag or get too hung up on technical things, I try to simplify. Or a better word is distill. Distill your idea and your design down to it's core element. What is it you're trying to say? What look are you trying to acheive? And, perhaps most important for a magazine cover, how to I entice someone to spend money on this? To pick it up and read it?

    Why flowers? Why army green flowers? Why the sparkly lights in the upper right area? Why that bit of magenta?

    Distill your idea/design. Make it more potent, and you've got something. You clearly know your way around Photoshop, so goodluck.
