i'm assuming you're running XP since you installed SP2.
Option 1:
1. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete key all at once. Click on Task Manager.2. Select Processes tab. Write down all the apps that's running there. You can skip obvious stuff like iexplorer.exe or Outlook.exe.
3. GOOGLE SEARCH EVERY FILE NAME that appeared under task manager. see if anyone discuss about possible virus.
4. Google search ways to manually remove them. This also means you'll be messing with registry. BACK UP first.
5. removal. However, if your HD is completely fucked, removal may not work (or you can remove but the thing keeps coming back).
Option 2:
reformat and reinstall OS.::after everything::
make sure you're up to date on windows update. update your virus definition and SCAN SCAN SCAN. install adware/spyware and constantly monitor your machine on daily or weekly basis. install firewall is possible. make sure you set up user permission to your machine so your roommate/family/house guests won't fuck with your computer.
start using browsers like firefox which has added security.sorry this is happening.
but remove it soon, so you won't spread the virus to others...
