my 20" iMac G5 fired a few weeks back.. tok it to the local APPL store .. two midplanes and LCDs later its fixed.. it does run very hot but cools quickly.. it runs at peak performance almost 160?.. i use temperature monitor just to be safe .. my Imac doesnt get shut off either.. i work days on it and another person in my office works evenings .. its on until late and on early. oh APPL care rocks as it was a little over 4000 US in parts. They backed up my mail and critical files to my ipod as i was panicked. three days without the big mac.. but back and working like a top.. the backup powerbook and on old powerpc were the substitute. . thank go d for old backups and actually owning software since the old days. this is my first mac repair of any sort in ten macs over 16 years .. first one SE.. still running a digital clock in the corner.. My IBM XT.. is probably recycled as a counter top by now.
Still wish they werent so expensive.. I think my grand total is like 20k over those years of ownership..ouch.shellie Hope your mac problems dont change your taste for APPLs.
