well lars said something quite interesting in that documentary when they had the bass player audition. he said something along the line of: "if cliff would have auditioned now i'm not sure if i would have picked him". it's along the line, different times, different needs. cliff was a very gifted bassplayer but i wouldn't go about it saying he's better than trujillo, he's just different. i mean the dude played bass in suicidal tendencies (and i bet cliff wouldn't keep up with the fingerspeed of trujillo).
