so you ask...well how do I rectify the situation. Ahhhh....digital dan to the rescue:

    1) there are plenty of free or very low cost hosts out there. When I had not a pot to piss in, I hosted my site with http://www.doteasy.com There was just a set-up fee and I was up and running with email and web hosting. Then when I got a little mulah I moved to http://www.fatcow.com so I could use their SQL and PHP. Another option is to ask your ISP if you have free hosting with your account (your on the internet so I am assuming since you don't have a job you are logging on from home therefore you must have AOL, cable, dsl, etc.) Usually they can give you the hook-up and its no extra fee.

    2) did you go to school for GD. If so, then you must have some type of portfolio that you could show people and digitize for online. If you have a scanner then scan all of that stuff in and start cracking on making a gallery of your stuff for your site ( if you don't have a scanner then go to your nearest public library and chances are they have a free/low-cost computer you can sign up to use and scan)

    3) network your ass off. Go to these places you want to work at and try to greet the creative director as he/she comes to work. Submit your portfolio over and over again to the people in charge.

    4) send fruit baskets. Offices love fruit baskets! :P
