it'll be hard the first couple of times. they'll learn to relax. it's kind of a two person effort though. i have to hold her (legs mostly) and my boyfriend washes her.but my cats are declawed. so i dont have to worry about front claws.
you can also try putting a towel draped over your shoulder and front and hold themagainst your stomach. so if they scratch they dont get direct skin contact.
if you have a glass or sliding door to your shower and a removable shower head thing that helps. cos then you dont have to hold them you can just kinda let them down on the shower floor and shoot.
I used to wash my cat emma by myself though. he was used to it as a kitten and didnt put up much of a fight. he actually cried when i took him out of the water.
if you cant do that, you can get baby whipes made for cats at the pet store.. give em a good butt whipe and keep the paws clean.. so they dont spread sickness around the house.
im weird
