I think he's capable of that. You don't need to see too many years of his spiraling weirdness and total disconnect with societal norms to guess that he is mentally sick and he sees nothing wrong with his acts.
I mean, he thinks it's okay for boys to sleep in bed with him...
And he literally challenged every parent alive with the claim that "the most living thing you can do with any child is share your bed."That says enough.
