If we all obey the usability laws of nielsen, probably there will be no atractive sites at all.
We as designers have the wonderfull job to create something unique?
What I believe is wrong is to start a project with that kind of limitations without even getting to the point of analyzing what the project is about.
Why shuting so many doors from start?
no pop ups, no fullscreen..
no using red, no rounded corners, etc.
