When i was in Junior College years ago I was friends with this old hippie named Burnin' Burton from Bodega. One day when i was meeting him for some hash at his daughter's soccer game, Tom Waits pulled up in an old Cadillac. I guess his kids went to the same school. At the time I didn't even know who he was, but after watching him in Down By Law and obsessing over the soundtracka year or two later, I went on a Waits kick. I love Down in a Hole and Clap your Hands, and if I was a singer I'd use a megaphone too...
