"At the 1996 Brit Awards, Cocker jumps on stage during a Michael Jackson performance, wiggles around, points at his buttocks, makes 'V' signs and runs off. Subsequently he is arrested and threatened with charges of actual bodily harm to three children who were on stage at the time. All charges are eventually dropped and Cocker emerges with a greatly enhanced public image."
