i'm not saying that i only prefer bright colors, i love more subdued colors (like Alphonse Mucha) as well. There was just an awful lot of bland browns that I don't think helped the painting much. Nothing really was a focal point. I can understand and appreciate the reason it was used, but i just would have preferred that it didn't look like it had been sitting in the sun for 15 years.
