  Some other geographical abbreviations that should also offend you :

  * Cali : California
  * Viet : Vietnamese
  * Penn : (as in U. Penn, Penn State) Pennsylvania
  * Pole : Polish
  * Scot : Scottish

  If latching onto innocuous geographical abbreviations as excuses to cry, throw a fit, stamp your feet and accuse some poor soul of racism is your game, then you'll have plenty to cry about for the rest of your life since, well, lots of people use geographical abbreviations and verbal shorthand in their informal written and common speech communication.
