I have been using my quest 2 headset a little bit more since trying out the Vision Pro last night, and even though I only did the demo for 30 minutes at the Apple Store, there is something very noticeable between the two: I had absolutely no eye strain or eye fatigue at all with the Vision Pro. And with the quest 2, I feel it within minutes, and it lingers for quite a while afterwards.

On the Vision Pro, they did get it configured with my lens prescription, which was pretty cool how they did that in the store. I’ve tried my quest with my glasses and without, and it did not really make a difference. It’s like there’s a mild pain that lingers in my eyes and behind them for at least a half hour after using the quest.

Using the quest, I would like it to an old tube TV in terms of video quality compared to the Vision Pro. Having experienced that 8K quality, everything you do on the quest just feels lacking. My kids love it and they don’t care at all.

    • wait, they configured for your prescription in-store, for free, for a demo, but charge $600 if you decide to buy it for $3.5K? hmmmmmonospaced
    • imagine having to pay $600 every time your prescription changes, just so apple can make a lens insert that probably costs them $3monospaced
    • Yeah, good point. They must have a mountain of every prescription possibility imaginable in the back of the store.mg33
