The social media addicted fuckwits and narcissist influencers still have the world around them, directly there, to at least bring a public sense of shame to their idiocracy. You'd hope.
Imagine these same assholes hiding behind a screen wrapped around their heads. May still be a decade until the tech gets there, but am not looking forward to it and what it will bring to society.
Though I do love the idea of watching movies or playing games or even doing productive shit like producing music on a giant immersive world. And all in legit 3D as well. Noice.
Have also had that weird moment where you look at something or someone you want information about and feel an almost strange IRL lag that you need to grab your phone to look it up. No doubt that 'second brain' action will feel antiquated in some point in the future as information is directly wired into our vision instead.
