J is the closest, but I would have to have a J subset

    J/a

I don't like it, it's boring. It is in part a niche specialism within an eccentric industry, and as a niche it always balanced unsteadily on a fault line between absurdity and genius.

It has fallen enthusiastically into absurdity now. At the same time it has bloated outwards from a niche to become a banal mainstream basic capability. A CV line item for all. A hot air balloon to add weight and gravity.

At the same time as it bloated, it also shifted from the time honoured methods used to examine the relationship between the endlessly variable people of Earth and the complex world they build and then inhabit.

It is now a fast-fire analysis of whatever just happened on TikTok three seconds ago, and again now, and again in three second's time. The entire process happens on a laptop or a phone, in under an hour.

The insights are as insightful as high street sandwich boards, and take as long to digest.

They concern two fictional tribes, conjured from the steam of frenzied ideation: Gen-Z and Gen Alpha.

We have profiled and decoded both of these tribes by observing them on TikTok. For speed, we work from a universal fact sheet that describes them in sufficient detail for the job at hand.

The profiling and decoding - undertaken to document their cultures - was undertaken by commercial researchers on behalf of commercial brands.

Each of these two tribes are as colourful, as complex, as unique and beguiling as Rubics cubes on an aisle shelf in an out of town toy megastore.

J/a: I don't like it. We are fucked as a species.

    • Insert 'hallucinogenic' here...

"conjured from the *hallucinogenic* steam of frenzied ideation"

      Thanks.
