    Bainbridge, Kyoto is nice.
We did temples and gardens, bamboo forest in Kyoto. Liked the chilled vibe there.

Then when we did Tokyo we didnt bother with any of the temples etc there, just all about city vibe, shopping, eating, walking.

If you are into synthesizers then 'Five G Music Technology' in Harajuku is a must. There's a small (locals only style) fried chicken bar on one of the floors beneath that's worth a visit.

I found an app for my iphone that showed kind of local insider insight into where to eat/drink and shop. Also another one for art, that showed galleries and exhibitions you'd never find otherwise.

Osaka's meant to be great too, bit more upbeat than kyoto.

Could do like Osaka > Kyoto > Toyko
That'd be a sweet city break trip.
Then hit a beach resort somewhere for some chill :)

As Shapesalad said, walk between all the main areas and you'll find some amazing shit. Some beautiful architecture in sidestreets, little architect designed homes.

As well as high fashion or designer stores, hunt out vintage stores. The curators there have some amazing collections.

    • +1 for Kyoto. Could happily live there.MrT
