I've been teaching myself how to use Oxygen Builder for the past six months, finally using it on an internal work project and I'm loving it. Granted, there are times that a theme is exactly what someone needs, but I was more interested in the flexibility of building from the ground up.
It does benefit from add-ons such as Oxy Extras, advanced custom fields, and a few others, but it's overall been fun. It's just the right amount of code and CSS for me at a point in my life where I just don't want to build anything from scratch, but don't want to stick entirely to hacking a template.
