facebook just wants to become an ownership company. like alphabet, except with no good ideas having actually originated from the company itself.
if they can jettison the facebook brand, they can still be a place for people to pile their money into in the hopes of Meta buying and owning the next best thing. (IG, Occulus, etc. etc.)
- Meta is the company that owns brands like Facebook, Oculus, Instagram, Whatsapp, drop.io, Friendster. Alphabet is a parent company that has partial or totalsted
- ownership over companies like google, google fiber, fitbit, waymo etc.
it isn't the same thing.sted - occulus, instagram, and facebook are both companies. it IS the same thing. except that facebook only invented facebook, and it sucks.sarahfailin
