Went through old HDs today, because I was searching a specific set. I didn't find it, but I stumbled upon these old photographs. I took them on August 31st, 2001. I booked a flight in a helicopter to photograph the NYC skyline from above. It were the most expensive 8 minutes of my life and I remember thinking that even hookers offer their services at lower prices.

This was still on film and I only have these images in very small sizes. But what still gives me chills is what happened only 11 days after I took these images.

    • I just want to check: you went up in a chopper over Manhattan (I've done the same flight, it's incredible), and your mind drifted to the cost of hookers!Wolfboy

    • Which route did you do? When I did it, we went up the Hudson from roughly where your first pic is taken, circled Yankie Stadium and back down.Wolfboy
    • It was an 8 minute flight for 200 USD. This was more than I could actually afford. 200 USD was the price for 1 hour with an escort girl back then (in Germany).SimonFFM
    • The route was up to Central Park (West side), turn, Statue of Liberty.SimonFFM
    • We all know you didn't use up the whole hour with the hooker tho. You got more bang for your buck with the pilot giving you the ride of your life.palimpsest
