In my opinion, people put way too much emphasis on downvotes here. However there does seem to be a lot of retaliatory downvoting toward those less popular, regardless of the quality of their posts. Perhaps a little accountability could help lessen this?
This would also be a better quantified tally of votes as well as equal numbers of upvotes and downvotes are cancelled out and never 'seen'.- Downvoted.

- The system is useless if it doesn't promote the posts in some way.
It was funny when some of my downvoted posts still ended up on the front pagegrafician - Your front page posts got downvoted, there's a difference.
The system works you just need to know how to work it.palimpsest - I don't intend to "work the system" in any way, just making observations
