We had a good snow here in London last week - by London standards, at least, I presume you North Americans would view what we had as a pittance.

We took my daughter to the local park and introduced her to snowballs, snowpeople and then tried with sledging. We only brought some bin bags, which didn't work at all well.

We got a couple of fun moments in, but it was clear we should have had something better.

Next day I walk into work and see on my way a sledge left outside for the bins. It's fine, except it's missing a brake on one side.

So now we have a sledge with a working set of brakes I CAD'd and cut out.

    But now, no snow, haha.

    .

(We had to leave it outside to deCovid for a few days (!), and next I have to flambé the underside to smooth out some scrapes. Should be fun)

    • (form was cut from 3x pieces of MDF, hence holes, which has sanded dowelling inserted)Nairn
    • i know you were referring to sleds, but i kept thinking "why would he want his daughter to insult others?"imbecile
    • wut?Nairn
    • sledging is also a cricket term describing "shit talk" on the pitchimbecile
    • The bottom-most dowel hole was a mistake - weak point. Obvious in hindsight. Still, it gave her a good last snow day's sledging before it gave out.Nairn
