Hear me out everybody. Please, just hear me out.

I had in my plans to learn Python to datamine QBN and create a virtual copy that would be QBN with extra features. All content would always come from QBN but with added features like the ones y'all request. Like an exoskeleton for QBN. Free.
Turns out, I ain't trying to do all that.

But my question is. Is QBN OK with it?
Nobody would be bugging you with requests.

    • They banned me from there too.palimpsest
    • Back in the day, we built our own bookmarking systems. We've lost the beauty of working with our hands, man.palimpsest
    • Python for this really?
      lol
just httrack the site down and write some grep scripts to get the data like i did few years ago.

    • and no its a shitty idea.sted
    • I don't care how it's done. Just look at the posts and comments on this thread. This would benefit everybody.palimpsest

    • benefit how?sted
    • By implementing individual features for each user without changing the content. We're all looking at the same thing but with a different perspective.palimpsest
    • And this would take the load off QBN. If they see a feature they like they get in touch with QBNer and add it to qbn.com.palimpsest
    • Merge into master, if you're the BDSM type.palimpsest
    • Everybody stays in their own comfy home they've built for themselves and yet they can still interact with the other(s).palimpsest
    • "implementing individual features for each user" this is way too abstract to apply on a a closed for the purpose system.sted
    • post+note function gives the simplicity of this system, everything else is just complicates things.sted
    • I have always like the simplicity of the system and it has proven to stand the test of time: because of the content.
I'm listening to the needs of the people.

    • I don't want to change QBN. I want people to enjoy it as they imagine it would be better.palimpsest
    • yeah I understand that, describe some examples maybe?sted
    • I give you my old one:
create a browser extension what makes possible to embed various sites/contents by using specialized phrases around the urls
      sted
    • like this:
      [coub] https://coub.com/vie…
      sted
    • *the extension does the embed for the specific content.sted
    • We can kinda do it with extensions it would be better to see it implemented in a system.
Some examples would be: The ability to create post collections.

    • All the ideas are in this thread. Ideally QBN would feed us the data as they see fit. But imagine they don't have the time. So this was a workaround.palimpsest
    • Go learn and figure out Python first and then get back to us.utopian
