Today is New Boots Day! Yaaay!

My fifth pair of these since 2005. They're the only shoes I wear from about Late October through top when it gets warm enough for trainers/flip flops.

I genuinely tried to find a different pair of boots this year, but fuck they all have some shitty pointless detailing that I can't stand. Usually some 'tech' crap moulded into the soles, or whatever. That, or they look like something an octogenerian with a bobbled woollen hat and an overweight terrier would wear.

    • This year's edition actually has a small embellished detail in the heel sole (you can just see the line) - it makes me twitch, but it's just about tolerable.Nairn
    • If I was smarter I'd buy two pairs and alternate every day or so to allow them to dry out and recover. They're not really designed for the way I wear them.Nairn
    • Sad twat that I am, I wrote Scarpa an effusive email thanking them for 15 years service and explained to them I hope they don't add tech crap to future VsNairn
    • A thankful response said my email was "being forwarded to R&D" which added a tiny mote of joy to my morning, even if it might've been just write-off bullshit.Nairn
    • Oh, and I stepped in dogshit on the way back home last night, so there's that too.Nairn
    • I have a pair of these just for hiking. Fucking awesome boots. Current pair's about 12 years old. Been around the world and I I I wouldn't have any others.MrT
    • Yaay! Boot-Brothers! ;)Nairn
    • I like the look of them. It's usually the sole colour that puts me off most boots.PhanLo
